Canopy (WORK IN PROGRESS )
"Most smart irrigation systems are little more than dumb timers with a Wi-Fi chip—or flat 2D diagrams that blindly open a valve after a plant is already dry. They ignore how plants actually live.
We built Canopy: a cyber-physical digital twin for smart gardens.
Inspired by a spatial infrastructure concept I designed for my Google onsite interview back in 2013, Canopy replaces static SVG badges with an interactive 3D canvas that tracks real-world solar trajectories and dynamic shadows across your garden beds. By pairing live microclimate forecasts with agricultural evapotranspiration physics, Canopy simulates subterranean moisture depletion and predicts water loss before wilting ever happens.
Connecting seamlessly into Home Assistant, Zigbee, and ESPHome, Canopy doesn’t just show if a valve is open—it’s an operating system for growth that conserves water with scientific precision."
